1. Letter I'm reading –
Hunter S. Thompson's Letter on Living a Meaningful Life
In 1958, Hunter S. Thompson was 22 years old when his friend Hume Logan requested life advice. His response is profound.
Read it here.
2. Short video I'm rewatching –
Tim Tebow's 'Promise' Speech
Ask not what your team can do for you...My dad recently recirculated this video of Tim Tebow's speech following the Gator's 31-30 home loss to Ole Miss in 2008. Florida went on to win the rest of their games that year, including a 24-14 win over Oklahoma to capture the National Championship. #GoGators
Watch one of college football's greatest leadership moments.
3. Phrase I'm loving –
Kia Ora - An everyday Māori greeting filled with meaning
I just spent a month backpacking around New Zealand, where you're greeted with a booming Kia Ora! around every turn. Māori was the language spoken before colonists arrived and it's making a resurgence today, with white New Zealanders and indigenous people alike greeting one another in the country's native tongue.
Arekatera Maihi explains, "It's really important to acknowledge a person. By using the words 'Kia Ora' we acknowledge not just them, but everything about them including where they come from and who they come from."
4. Quote worth thinking about –
"To do two things at once is to do neither."
— Publilius Syrus
