Tha Good Good, Week of 7.11.19

1. Podcast I'm listening to – LaDonna - This American Life
From NPR's Believed to Slate's second season of Slow Burn, a number of podcasts have emerged offering hard-hitting journalism and fresh looks at stories of female harassment. "LaDonna" is no exception, telling the inspiring story of an airport security guard at JFK who sets out to transform a misogynistic workplace.

2. Comedy special I'm enjoying – The Tennessee Kid - Nate Bargatze on Netflix
Maybe it's because we were all mildly hungover and lacked the energy needed to scroll through yet another genre on Netflix. Maybe it's because I've long adored the kind of dry humor this guy has down pat. Whatever the case, my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed Nate Bargatze's latest Netflix special.
Have a laugh.

3. Concept I'm learning about –
"Ikigai" - One of many Japanese words that's short but conveys lots of meaning
Here's part of Happiness.com's definition: Ikigai is our “raison d’être” (reason for being). It is the passion and talent we have, that gives meaning to our days and drives us to share the best of ourselves with the world. Ikigai is an attitude towards life, a way of finding our optimal activities in life, and a set of characteristics that can create meaning and happiness in life. Ikigai is found at the intersection where passion, mission, vocation, and profession meet.
