Tha Good Good, Week of 4.21.19
1. A simple grad dress that works – A-Line Mini Dress - made by French Connection
I don't like half-assing things. When it came time to buy a graduation dress, I stalked dozens of Facebook pictures to find which photographed best. I found that simple, fitted (but not skin-tight), above-the-knee dresses with straps were my favorite. If you haven't found a dress yet, try the same strategy for yourself.
Here's my dress.
2. A pod for fellow history lovers – Hardcore History - a podcast by Dan Carlin
“Would you be willing, under certain conditions, to order the killing of an innocent woman or child, or old person?” the voice wants to know. “If you said that you would not be willing to do that,” it continues, “you are already off the potential ‘great person’ list.” *pause* “At least in terms of world leaders.”
Intrigued? Get gritty with the world's coolest history teacher as he dives into major events of the last several thousand years. Episodes are long (like, really long) so try one out on your next long drive. Listen here.
For Hardcore History gateway drugs, check out Malcolm Gladwell's Revisionist History or The Story.
3. A must watch comedy special – Elder Millennial - Iliza Shlesinger's Netflix stand-up comedy special
Everyone needs to watch Iliza Shlesinger. She gets into specific, relatable issues. And, her humor will have you on the floor.
See for yourself.
