EATS: Should workout type impact eating choices?

You asked, we listened! From Jen: "How do the different types of workouts you do impact your eating habits that day?


Great question! For the most part my diet is pretty boring (consistent). While I might eat slightly less protein on cardio days or slightly more carbohydrates on heavy lifting days, my food choices vary little based on the type of workout. What I aim for in every meal: 

  • Veggies, veggies, veggies - they make up the bulk of the plate. 

  • Good protein like a piece of fatty fish.

  • Olive oil or avocado oil in place of butter and margarine. 

  • Avocados..need I say more? From potassium to folate, avo's are the goat. 

  • Nuts and seeds provide extra protein and healthy fat. 

  • "Not today, satan!" when it comes to refined carbs, dairy, and sweet fats (like flavored yogurt).
