Tha Good Good, Week of 4.6.19
1. The podcast that kicks off my day – The Daily - a podcast by The New York Times
If you're into engaging news stories on a wide range of topics, The Daily is a great podcast choice. Be it environmental news or international markets, I like to know enough about things to ask smart questions and engage in meaningful conversations. That's why I begin each weekday morning by listening to host Michael Barbaro spend 20-something-minutes narrating the biggest stories of the day through creative storytelling. Get started here.
P.S. On busy mornings I opt for NPR's Up First, which offers a more succinct overview of the day's news.
2. An album I've been enjoying –
The Descendants soundtrack - music from the motion picture
What is it about George Clooney's movies having the best soundtracks?? Normally I play classical music or nature sounds while doing work. But this movie goes against the grain by forgoing an orchestral score and paying homage to the beautiful land it's filmed in, exclusively playing music by Hawaiian artists. The result? A refreshingly soulful soundtrack played from the heart.
Listen here.
3. A quote I'm thinking about –
"If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first."
- Mark Twain
