A Quick n' Easy Smoothie
There's nothing easier than a smoothie. Why? Because it's just a bunch of ingredients that you should already have on deck thrown together and blended up. What ingredients should you always have handy? Protein (vegetarian or whey, up to you), fiber (i.e. flax seeds), greens, high fructose veggies (think: berries, bananas, carrots), fat (avocado, almond butter, coconut oil), liquid (water, almond milk), and any additional stuff that makes your heart happy (I like honey, granola, and pumpkin seeds). Take one ingredient from each of these buckets and boom! You've got a delicious superfood meal in under five minutes. I mix everything up in my Nutribullet so that I can take my smoothie on the go.
Here's a yummy recipe I've been enjoying from holistic nutritionist Kelly LeVeque that follows this smoothie-making framework:
1 Serving vanilla protein powder
2 tbsp of Any Nut Butter of choice
1 Serving Raw Fiber Powder or 2 Tbsp Chia
1/4 cup Blueberries
2 cups Nut Milk
Blueberries & Hemp Seeds to top
Blend and enjoy!
